The State Duma Committee on Construction and Transport has completed the preparation of amendments to the law and taxis. The law says that ONLY Russian CITIZENS can be taxi drivers. I.e. migrants, citizens of the CIS, the Customs Union and even Belarus will not be able to become a taxi driver

Russian citizens convicted of serious crimes and drivers who were deprived of their rights during the last calendar year will also not be allowed to take private cabs.
If I pass this law, the regional authorities will have the opportunity to conduct an additional exam for taxi drivers: Testing their knowledge of the streets and the location of important city objects.
